Blower and cabinet: what to inspect
A blower assembly includes a wheel, housing, motor and control connections. The cabinet is the enclosure around multiple components. A contractor can clean the visible cabinet floor without reaching the wheel vanes, so an estimate must identify which surfaces are involved. Photos should show the same side of the wheel before and after, not an anonymous pile of dust.
The useful observation
Deposits on wheel blades may change airflow or balance, but noise can also come from bearings, loose mounting, duct resonance or a failing motor. Ask whether the proposed cleaning will occur in place or after removal, and how the motor and electronics are protected. Removal can involve more labour and reassembly risk than a surface wipe; the quote should reflect that difference.
What a good scope includes
Check the filter rack and return path upstream. Without correcting bypass or construction dust, newly cleaned surfaces may load again. The technician should close all access panels, restore wiring, and check for normal operation and abnormal vibration after the work. A cleaning invoice should not be read as proof of electrical diagnosis, motor repair or gas safety inspection.
