Flue pipe deposits
Deposits, corrosion or disconnected venting on a flue route can signal a venting problem.
What to observe
Photograph visible damage without moving the pipe; report alarms or exhaust odours promptly.
A field example
Corrosion at a vent joint can indicate condensate or venting conditions that deserve inspection beyond a stained patch. Ask for the route and termination to be assessed, not just the visible pipe wiped.
What the written work should say
A certified technician should inspect the full venting path and correct the cause before returning the appliance to service.
Where this task stops
Do not treat flue cleaning as a substitute for combustion and draft evaluation.
