Burner cleaning scope
Deposits at burner ports can affect ignition and combustion, but a visual brush-off is not a complete safety service.
What to observe
Request the technician's documented reason for cleaning, affected burners and post-work operational checks.
A field example
A flame that lifts or burns irregularly calls for diagnosis of supply, burner and venting conditions. A brush can remove material from a port but cannot by itself establish safe combustion.
What the written work should say
A qualified gas technician should follow the appliance procedure and verify ignition and combustion as required.
Where this task stops
A cheap burner-cleaning line item does not establish that venting, heat exchanger or CO risk were assessed.
